Thought we should start discussing a suitable location.

I will put up Echuca, Victoria, no particular reason other than it looks to be in a good area.

Oh, and I'm not organising it.

Echuca is a great recommendation - and we won't have to go over the Hay Plain to get there...

Also Guido & Di can get there in a day from the 'Hill.
Will be overnighting in Echuca on the way to Jindabyne.

Someone (I think Bussa or Smitty) mentioned Huskisson on the NSW South Coast. Jervis Bay is a beautiful part of the world. Unfortunately, Huskisson has morphed from a sleepy little settlement to a prime tourist location and accommodation is limited and rather expensive. Having said that the general area could be worth looking into. Nowra as a base????

Some thought and discussion should also be put into Bendigo or Ballarat, if flockers want to see a different part of Victoria close to good riding roads.

I would also suggest Tathra, Pambula, Merimbula as an area. Far south coast of NSW and great riding. Lets see other suggestions and get a majority opinion so we can lock it in. There are also Big 4 Caravan Parks which are well priced and have cabins and good big bbq areas.

Time to plan....

I like the sound of all the locations suggested, Bendigo,Ballarat, echuca, Merrimbula, nowra. or another Queensland one, up the hinterlands somewhere.
I am in where ever we decide to have it.
or even one in the Hawkesbury would be great too.

Around the Tathra region or the Hawkesbury get my vote.

Haven't had a chance to ride those areas.

My vote is for the south coast NSW. Merimbulla, Pambula, Tathra, Bermagui
Not keen on anywhere in VIC, due to the costs $8 plus schooners is a rip off

Geez the way you guys were knocking back the shots late Friday night one would think money wasn't a object

Anywhere on south coast NSW to Lakes Entrance VIC is fine by me and being closer might entice a few more Mexicans to attend

Surely that was just the monopoly in Bright? ($8 schooners)

I don't care where it is, even cockroach country.

I like Pambula. Pretty spot. Big 4 Pambula might be good for accommodation. Great riding including the Bombala loop Smitty, Bussa and I did on the way to Cann River for the Bright flocking. Mt Imlay road......mmmmmmm......that road reminded my why I bought a T'Bird. You couldn't have wiped the smile off my face with a shovel after we did that run.
I know this is in the general geographic vicinity of the Jindabyne flocking (In terms of the Aus continent) but it is coastal rather than alpine and there should be no crossover in rides as Jindy will have us cruising the Snowy Mountain Highway and other awesome alpine roads, including the Snowy Mts National Park run up to Charlottes Pass.

Hi Guys,

If the consensus is for Pambula/Merimbula/Tathra area I will put my hand up to organise and see best places to stay etc. Know the area as I have clients in the region and will do a recce and find a couple of sneaky rides.

I guess we need to get the majority to rule where we go.

Steve

That's an easy one... Merimbula, Candelo, Wyndham, Cathcart, Bombala and back down the Mt Imlay Rd from Rockton to Narrabarra
we went that way from Bermagui to Cann River on the Bright Flocking

Cheers Smitty

Looks like a few in favor of the South Coast. I will start making inquiries about accommodation etc. Now the Phillip Is Grand Prix is on 23 October so do we go for the week after which is 28/29/30 October? What about numbers/ About 50 I would think.

The dates sound good as that is the Melbourne cup weekend and some of us mexicans get a 4 day weekend.

Location suits me fine, am very passionate on the southern nsw coastline and there are some excellent riding roads for all occasions, suggested weekend dates are suitable also.

Midnight Cowboy is very familiar with the Cann River district and knows a section of road quite well
